Forget snakes on planes – these passengers were panicked by a rodent on a plane.
Frantic fliers spotted what appeared to be a rat scurrying over an overhead bin on a Spirit Airlines flight from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles, California.
A video depicting the furry infiltrator has garnered nearly two million views on Instagram.
“This was seen on a flight from Dallas to LAX this week,” Dallas Texas TV wrote in a caption of the clip, which was a repost of a video shot by @chuck_hustle817.
In the back clip, a pair of rodent legs are seen nestled inside a light in the cabin ceiling, which houses the essential electrical wires that run through the plane, Aviation A2Z reported.
The camera then zooms out, illuminating the silhouette of the varmint as it runs into the light like something out of a horror movie.
“It’s a super mouse,” exclaims one of the onlookers in the background.
It is still unclear which plane the bag took over.
However, Spirit Airlines operates three daily flights between Dallas and Los Angeles: Flight NK420, Flight NK363, and Flight NK3709.
Several users claimed that the aircraft in question was an Airbus A320 aircraft, potentially narrowing down the flight to NK363 or NK3709, which are operated by this aircraft model.
The Post has reached out to Spirit for further information.
Viewers went wild at the idea of being trapped in an airplane cabin with a mouse.
“Someone should tell me what’s up there, we’re not going to keep flying while something is crawling over my head,” said one Instagram commenter.
Another wrote: “He’s probably been all over the world.”
“New movie: Rats on a Plane and Don’t Talk About Your Ex,” said a third, referring to the 2006 horror comedy “Snakes on a Plane.”
Another wit joked, “You’re flying Chuck E Cheese Airlines.”
“Ratatouille switched careers I see,” said another joker.
Many were concerned that the rodent would chew through the wires, potentially causing a malfunction or fire—a common concern in the air.
Last month, a rat made its way onto a Scandinavian Airlines flight, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Denmark due to their policy banning rodents from flights due to their taste for wiring.
